The graph below shows growth in Cereal production, along with increase in Cereal produced per square hectare (Yield) since 1961. Even with the growth in population, the food production increased all the while keeping land use almost the same as was in 1961.
Cereals include Barley, Buckwheat, Canary seed,, Fonio, Maize (corn), Millet, Mixed grain, Oats, Quinoa, Rice, Rye, Sorghum, Triticale, Wheat.
Crops that feed the majority of the humanity are Wheat, Rice, Maize, Soybean, Oil palm, potato and cassava. Nearly all crops have seen similar increase in yields.
