Monthly income
The family, who lives in United States, consists of 45-year-old N, and her teenage daughter, M. Six months ago they moved into this 1-bedroom flat in a transitional home for homeless families. The only income they presently have is a disability cheque Nicole receives. The next big thing they plan to buy is a phone and their dream is to one day buy a house for themselves.
The family lives in United States. N is 45 years old. She lives with her daughter M, 13 years old, who is a student. Six months ago they moved into this 1-bedroom flat in a transitional home for homeless families. N has a disability, and the only income they have for now is the disability cheque she receives every month. Most of their income goes in rent of the transitional home, However, food is served in a cafeteria that is part of the home and the cost is covered in their housing rent. They also have a microwave in their room with soups, snacks, and other items that they purchase on their own. The flat has reliable electricity, a toilet, and safe drinking water. The family hardly saves any money since most of it is spent on food and rent. They’ve never been on vacation. The furthest they have ever been was to Massachusetts, United States. The next thing they plan to buy is a phone. They hope that one day they will be able to fulfill their dream of buying a house.
